The Virtual Boy was Gunpei Yokoi's stereoscopic 3D console, a table-mounted headset that displayed games in red on black using scanning LED mirrors. It came out in 1995, was uncomfortable to play for long, and was discontinued within a year. Only 22 games were released worldwide, and North America got 14 of them.
Its short life makes it a popular console to complete. Mario's Tennis came packed in, and Wario Land, Red Alarm, Teleroboxer and Galactic Pinball are the best-known releases. Jack Bros. and Virtual Bowling (Japan-only) are among the more expensive carts.
Most units now have display problems caused by the ribbon cables that connect the screens, which are fixable but common. Ask the seller whether both displays work, and check that the stand and AC adapter or battery pack are included.
By each game's original release year, so ports count under the year the game first came out.
